Think safe; Act safe: Safety Week
The Safety Week at Delhi Public School Vapi was celebrated with great keenness and dedication. The event aimed to instill essential safety knowledge and practices in young children through engaging and interactive activities. The activities and events focused on promoting fire safety, road safety, RTO license-making procedures, body safety, and safety at home. The cherubs were explained about the essential road safety rules like looking both ways before crossing the road, using pedestrian crossings, and wearing seat belts. A mini traffic park was set up in the school playground where children practiced crossing the road, recognizing traffic signals, and understanding the importance of road signs. A fun and educational activity was designed to introduce children to obtaining a driving license. The learners had hands-on experience with the driving test. Children made their own fire-engine and fireman models using craft supplies. These activities helped reinforce the fire safety lessons learned during the week and provided a fun and memorable takeaway. As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, Counselling department conducted a Rock the Talk session for classes I and II to educate young children about the importance of knowing their bodies, understanding personal boundaries, and dealing with strangers.
The success of the ‘Safety Week’ underscores the importance of continuing such educational initiatives and fostering an environment where children feel safe, respected, and empowered.
